DIFFICULTY LEVEL
This photography workshop is open to all experience levels, from beginner to advanced all are welcome.
HIKING
This workshop will require moderate hiking (no more than 1 mile) through Rocky terrain at high elevations.
WILDFLOWERS
The dates for this workshop were chosen to have the best chance at peak wildflower bloom in alpine meadows.
MILKY WAY
Get ready for dark skies, the high altitude and remote nature of this workshop make it perfect for night photos.
BLENDING
This workshop is great for learning advanced techniques like focal length, perspective and blue hour blending,
BACKCOUNTRY
We visit the iconic locations on this workshop, but also take you to places not easily reached on your own.
ITINERARY
This Itinerary is subject to change as with any landscape photography adventure weather plays an important role in our shoots.

Day 1 – Meet in Silverton, CO: We’ll meet at noon in Silverton for lunch, gear checks and an overview of the days ahead. In the afternoon we’ll photograph asters at a historic ghost town and return after dark for a light painting session.

Day 2 – Editing and Alpine Pass: Morning editing workshop at the cabin with a full workflow demo and guided practice. Evening shoot at a mountain pass, capturing columbine among the rocks with peaks in the distance. Optional Milky Way photography back at the cabin.

Day 3 – Editing and Wildflower Fields: Morning one-on-one editing time with instructor feedback. Lunch in Silverton, then a sunset shoot in colorful wildflower meadows, practicing blending techniques among paintbrush and alpine blooms. Optional night sky session at the cabin.

Day 4 – Alpine Basin Adventure: Wrap up edits in the morning. Afternoon 4x4 adventure into a high alpine basin filled with wildflowers and a clear stream, one of the best spots for dramatic Colorado landscape photography.

Day 5 – Sunrise and Departure: Sunrise shoot at a tranquil alpine lake with golden flowers & mountain views. Workshop ends after sunrise, cabin check out at 10 AM.
LOGISTICS
NEAREST AIRPORT
You will want to fly into
ALBUQUERQUE AIRPORT, DURANGO AIRPORT or MONTROSE AIRPORT, arrive before 12pm the first day.
MEETING LOCATION
SILVERTON, CO (5hr Drive from Albuquerque Airport, 1.5hr Drive from Durango & Montrose Airport)
4X4 REQUIRED
These are backcountry roads, this means a high clearance 4X4 vehicle is required.

ZOOM SESSIONS
Before we set off, we’ll have a quick Zoom meet-up to get everyone geared up and ready for the adventure ahead. It’s our way of making sure you feel confident and prepared before the real fun begins.
After the field sessions we’ll come together for editing, where we’ll show you how to bring out the full potential in your photos. You’ll get practical techniques you can use right away, and since the session is recorded you can revisit it anytime at your own pace.
