ITINERARY

This Itinerary is subject to change as with any landscape photography adventure weather plays an important role in our shoots.

  • Day 1 – Arrival in Phoenix: We’ll meet at 10 AM in Phoenix and begin with a visit to an art museum to draw inspiration from the great painters and sculptors who shaped the way we see light and form. Next we travel to our retreat base in Sedona. The evening is dedicated to a classroom sessions discussing concept development and color theory, laying the foundation for the work ahead.

  • Day 2 – Color and ConceptsAt sunrise we explore the fall colors on one of the most enchanting hikes in Sedona, practicing how to see and capture natural color harmonies. After is a classroom session on building visual pathways and share a peer review of raw images. Sunset is capture at an Iconic barn with the towering cathedral rocks as a backdrop, a place to bring developed concepts to life.

  • Day 3 – Storytelling in StoneStaring with a sunrise study at a dramatic natural bridge, using the concepts developed earlier in the retreat. The afternoon is spent editing to refine those ideas into finished works. Evening takes us to the desert pools and cacti at the base of the cathedral rocks where light and reflection shape the closing images of the day.

  • Day 4 – Light in the Landscape: We return to Phoenix to settle into our next retreat base. Then jumping into a classroom session on light and how it directs emotion in an image. Our final field study takes us into the wilderness, where a cluster of jagged peaks becomes our subject as changing light transforms the scene.

  • Day 5 – Departure: The retreat ends with a relaxed morning at the Airbnb, leaving space for questions, feedback &  reflection before departure at 10 AM.
